Bob and Marilyn also own McFrugal's Mattresses, located downtown Excelsior Springs on Thompson Ave., and have furnished the inn with award-winning premium quality mattresses and sleep accessories.

Merchants decorate for the Christmas holiday and the Hall of Waters features an exciting Hall of Trees exhibit inside the world's longest mineral water bar. Other holiday events include a Holiday Homes Tour, Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, parade, caroling and more! Popular year-round events include Art Crawls in various downtown galleries and businesses, as well as Girl's Night Out.

Attractions inside the City of Excelsior Springs include the Hall of Waters, a magnificent Art Deco building, which features a community history tour inside the water bar area. Adjacent to the Hall of Waters is the Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives, another magnificent building designed by Louis Curtiss. This bank is where Frank James was known to have made "deposits" instead of "withdrawals." Several films have been made using the original bank's vault as a backdrop. Connected inside the old Francis Hotel is an art gallery, more museum displays and historic archives. A gift store provides unique memorabelia items at reasonable prices. Restoration work continues on historic buildings in the Hall of Waters Historic District. Also within walking distance are restaurants, the Paradise Playhouse dinner theatre, unique stores, historic churches, and parks. For a listing of major events in Excelsior Springs, see the Chamber of Commerce's events calendar.

The Hall of Waters sets the stage for many community events, from the Hall of Trees, left, to the Waterfest band concerts, above.

Within minutes driving time, visitors can be at the Historic Excelsior Springs Golf Course, Watkin's Mill State Park, or Jesse James Farm and Museum. Several golf tournaments are held locally each year including the Gregg Williams Tiger Golf Classic, Hospital tournament, Chamber tournament, Good Samaritan Center Spring Scramble and vintage Hickoy Stick Golf Tournament. For more than 50 years, the Mineral Water Bowl football game has been played in Excelsior Springs and now features teams from the NCAA Division II.

A Broadway musical is performed annually by the Excelsior Springs Kiwanis Club in the school's Performing Arts Center. Other productions are performed throughout the year by the Excelsior Springs Community Theatre. The Wabash BBQ Blues Garden provides live music outdoors during the summer months.

A visitor's directory of businesses and sites to see is available through the Chamber of Commerce.
